There’s nothing quite like a juicy, tender steak cooked to perfection.  With this recipe, you can let go of the idea that the only place to find one is at a steakhouse.  Top it off with the homemade steak sauce (recipe by itself here), and you will forget all about that other bottled stuff.

Steakhouse Steak with Homemade Steak Sauce

Ingredients

Steak

  • 16 oz sirloin steak
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp pepper freshly ground preferred
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 green onion

Homemade Steak Sauce

  • 3 Tbsp Ketchup no sugar listed in ingredients, see notes
  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce no sugar listed in ingredients, see notes
  • 1 tsp Bragg Liquid Aminos
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp bottled minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce or to taste

Instructions

Steak

  • Pat steak dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper, on each side.
  • Heat pan over medium heat. Add olive oil. Add steak. Cook 3-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice steak and serve with sauce.

Homemade Steak Sauce

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Notes

We used Organicville Ketchup and The Wizards vegan Worcestershire Sauce for testing purposes.
