UPDATE:  Check out our newer blog on the 5 things you should make with your new Instant Pot.

It seems like EVERYONE got an Instant Pot for Christmas, doesn’t it?  It’s everywhere in my Facebook feed and our esteemed “Recipe Engineer”, Heidi, has been using one long before that.  I didn’t pay much attention at first and just figured it was a pressure cooker like the one my Mom bought in the 90’s but never used.  As the number of posts praising the Instant Pot in my news feed steadily rose, so did my curiosity and I wanted to join in the Instant Pot fun.

So, I finally ordered my Instant Pot and it arrives today!  I can’t wait to try it out.

Instant Pot Features

I decided to go ahead and order one when I found out that it is MUCH MORE than a pressure cooker.  In fact, it is 7 different things in 1:

✅ Pressure cooker (2 different pressures)
✅ Slow cooker
✅ Rice cooker
✅ Yogurt Maker
✅ Steamer
✅ Sauté
✅ Warmer

So, I should be able to replace my rice cooker and my slow cooker (which needs to be replaced).  That was enough for me to give it a try.

  1. I love my Instant Pots…yes pots. I have three of them! We have two of the 6qt and one of the 8qt.

  2. I received an Instant Pot for Christmas too! I’ve been fearful of using it so it has sat in my cupboard, but my husband broke it in the other night with boiled eggs for the week! He loves how the shells come off real easy. Heidi is very detailed in the Instant Pot instructions, so getting over my fear & I’m excited to try one of her recipes real soon! Red Beans & Rice will be first 🙂
