If you’ve ever wondered what my kids absolutely CRAVE, year ’round, hands down, regardless of season, it’s this.  If anything can pull them away, at least temporarily, from Fortnite, it’s this.  Roasted Applesauce will be the reason they still come home after they’re adults.  (And I’m okay with that, as long as they come home.)

You absolutely can use your instant pot or stovetop for this recipe, but it will NOT be the same.  I suggest only the oven for this one.  There’s just something about roasting the apples first that brings out an amazing flavor you’ve never had before.

You can use any apple variety you want for this healthy applesauce recipe, but my favorite combo is honey crisp with granny smith.  Side note: did you know the HoneyCrisp was bred first in Minnesota, where I’m originally from?  Minnesota’s list of claims to fame is long and distinguished, and populated with the Mall of America and HoneyCrisp apples, just to name two.  Minnesota ROCKS!  (Yes, in Minnesota we call it “Duck, Duck, Grey Duck.”  Don’t you?)

  1. How did I not see this recipe before? I will have to try with some fresh apple farm apples this fall!
