Are you a recovering cinnamon roll addict? Did you give up ooey, gooey cinnamon rolls when you started 90/10 Nutrition? Do you want them back, but not if it means giving up on your goals? Well, we’re here with a cleaner version with this Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole.
Ingredients
- 8 cups 100% Whole Grain Bread no high fructose corn syrup
- 1 1/2 cups milk non-dairy milk is fine
- 8 egg
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup or honey, divided
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pecans chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
Instructions
All methods:
- Grease 13X9 casserole dish with cooking spray. (If using a foil casserole pan, there is no need to grease it first.) Cube bread and add to casserole. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, milk, 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla until well combined.
- Pour egg mixture over bread. Top with pecans. Proceed as directed below according to desired preparation method:
To Cook Immediately
- Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
- While casserole is baking, combined softened cream cheese with remaining 1/4 cup maple syrup in a blender. Blend until smooth. Spread cream cheese mixture over casserole when it's done baking.
To Freeze
- Cover tightly with foil and freeze.
To Cook After Freezing
- Thaw completely. Remove cover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
- While casserole is baking, combined softened cream cheese with remaining 1/4 cup maple syrup in a blender. Blend until smooth. Spread cream cheese mixture over casserole when it's done baking.

Looks like a recipe worth trying!
I tried & liked; the kids, not so much. Will have to make a 1/2 batch if I want it again.
Tried this again without the cream cheese topping so family could put what they want on it. They liked it much better this way.
They chose maple syrup. I still like it with the cream cheese topping. Yum!
